Cesium carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Cs2CO3. It is a white solid at room temperature and pressure, very soluble in water, and rapidly absorbs moisture when placed in air. The aqueous solution of cesium carbonate is strongly alkaline and can react with acid to produce the corresponding cesium salt and water, and release carbon dioxide. When storing cesium carbonate, it should be sealed, kept dry and stored separately from acids.
