Isobutyric anhydride reacts exothermically with water. The
reactions are sometimes slow, but can become violent when local
heating accelerates their rate. Acids accelerate the reaction with
water. Incompatible with a cids, strong oxidizing agents, alcohols,
amines, and bases.
