Kor-Add ***5 General Characteristics

Foundry Sand Additives are used as binders in sand to develop sufficient strength for handling, assembly, casting, and shake out. These special sand additives add dry strength, improve surface finish to the core and prevent casting defects such as "veining" and "pinholes."

Kor-Add ***5 is a dry blend of specially selected organic materials specifically designed as an additive to CO2 sand mixes.  Kor-Add reduces casting defects in foundries using the C*2 sand molding process. Suggested Applications Foundry: Grey Iron, Ductile Iron, Steel, and Non-ferrous foundries.
Sand System: For CO2 sand mixes. Advantages - Adds dry strength when used in foundry facing sands.
- Improves peel and surface hardness.
- Almost **0% combustable. Mixing Guide Use at 1.5% to 3% with 2% being most common use rate based on the weight of the sand. Thoroughly blend with the additional dry ingredients of the molding sand to insure uniform dispersion. Standard Packaging Shipped dry in *0 lb. bags and up to ***0 lb. super sacks.
