Taps—a cutting tool for machining internal thread, it’s grooves are arranged along the axial direction. According to the shape, taps are distinguished into three types: straight fluted tap, spiral groove tap and spiral pointed tap. Straight fluted taps are easily for processing, but the precision is slightly lower, usually used in the ordinary lathe, drilling machine and the tapping machine. Spiral groove tap are usually used in the CNC machine for processing the blind hole. It has the advantage of high processing speed, high precision, and good ability of chip removal. Spiral pointed tap is used for processing transparent hole. It has the chip groove in the front.
