Emping (also known as arifin) are Indonesian chips made of melinjo or belinjo (Gnetum gnemon) nuts (which are seeds). The taste of emping crackers is slightly bitter. Emping snacks are available in markets plain (original), salty, spicy, or sweet, depending on whether salt or caramelized sugar has been added.
