The XL3t with GOLDD™ (Geometric Advantage, Optimized Excitation, and aLarge Drift Detector) technology combines all of our advancements in such areas as electronics, ease-of-use, x-ray tube technology with one of the largest areaSDDs (Silicon Drift Detector) commercially available. SDD provide increased count rates but need to be combined with higher energy kV x-ray tubes, closely matched tube-sample-detector geometry, and advanced calibration algorithms to provide higher accuracy results. The GOLDD™ detector also provides Light Element detection for such elements as Mg, Al, Si, P and S, without the need of helium or vacuum assistance. The GOLDD™ systems are also available with the CCD camera and Small Spot focused beam options.
