Oxyresveratrol, the potential natural whitening agent

The Oxyreveratrol is a major compound and was found in heart wood of Ma-Haad. (Artocarpus lakoocha) Oxyresveratrol exhibited potent inhibitory effect with tyrosinase activity, which was **-fold potent inhibition than kojic acid, moreover  oxyresveratrol is  stronger inhibition  of tyrosinase  on melanoma cell line than kojic acid. Oxyresveratrol  showed about a ***-fold more potent inhibitory than resveratrol so this  compound  is depigmenting agent used as the cosmetic  material with skin-whitening effect and the medical agent for hyperpigmentation disorders  for avoid the side effect of melasma drug (Hydroquinone) in the market.
