Yes, Plantain Crisps - Sounds strange, but I was pleasantly surprised when I gave the Asiko Plantain Crisps a try. 



Tired of the same old snacks.  Finally something different - Really different.  I have never had these crisps before.  I used to see people eating them at work, on the buses, almost everywhere, and they seem to enjoy them.  I came across of Asiko Plantain Crisps advert in December, I decided to give it a try, I am glad to say the quality was absolutely wonderful, delicious and crunchy.  I am so glad to have found these Asiko Plantain Crisps. 

They are made with plantain, a big banana, with no preservatives, artificial flavours and gluten.  The plantain is a close relative of the banana, and although a tropical fruit, it is nutritionally high in Potassium, Energy, and low in Cholesterol.  It is actually used in most developing countries as a vegetable, forming part of the staple diet. The process of making this natural plantain crisps is similar to that of potato crisps.

Living in Ireland, I get my plantain crisps delivered every two months via alademarket.com.  These superbly made Asiko Plantain Crisps are excellent with side dips or with salad as a sprinkle.  My children love them too!  The only problem, I have to hide them constantly.
