Powdered activated carbon is widely used in:
1) Gas-phase applications: air purification and removal of volatile
organic compounds (VOCs), industrial pollution, garbage burning,
treatment of flue gas in incineration system. PAC is ideally suited
for cost-effective removal of dioxins, mercury, furans and other
contaminants from the flue gas stream.
2) Liquid-phase applications such as water purification, wastewater
purification and emergency water pollution. PAC is used in the
water treatment through a number of process applications to remove
refractory organic chemicals, such as color, taste and odor-causing
compounds, as well as herbicides and pesticides.
