Drying is an very important step in making pellets process, because too high or too low moisture content of raw materials will affect the final quality of pellets. So before pelletizing, an appropriate drying machine is needed to reduce or minimize the moisture content of the materials. There are mainly two types of dryers, one is rotary sawdust dryer, the other is airflow dryer. The former is for the big processing capacity, the latter is for small quantity biomass sawdust.
How Sawdust Drying Machine to Work?
Sawdust dryer is composed of rotating cylinder, transmission device, supporting device and shoveling plates, etc. When the wet materials are fed into the rotating cylinder by the belt conveyor or bucket elevator, the hot air furnace supplies hot air to the rotary dryer. With the rotation of drum dryer, the shoveling plates inside the drum walls will fully mix the wet material and hot air, then the moisture will be evaporated by the high temperature of the hot air. Finally, the dried materials are discharged from the discharging hole for further pelletizing.
