This Silver Needle is the highest grade of white tea available. Easy to recognize because of the white, fuzzy hairs, Silver Needle tea contains no leaves, just the unopened tea buds. This white tea is famous because of its special taste and the incredible health benefits. Just before the Qingming festival, between mid-March and mid-April, the best tea buds are picked in order to make a tea which has a sweet, mellow taste and refreshing aroma. Only the best unopened buds give the white impression, which is unique to the Silver Needle. (note: the white tea is traditionally regarded as a medical herb in Fuding City. Therefore many local villagers will reserve some white tea instead of selling them all)
