The application of starches in Paper industry is to increase bonding strength. In production of white paper and paperboard, starch increases bonding strength, paper quality and brightness. Range of starches used are Cationic starch, Oxidized starch and Thin Boiling Starch. Another application of starch is in the paper packaging such as making of cartons and boxes. Due to its adhesive property starch increases bonding capacity of glue.
