In nature, starch is a carbohydrate formed naturally in large quantities. It is found in nuts, seeds and fruits of plants. Starch provides energy sources to plants during its sleep and germination. It is also the most important energy source of animals and human. Starch plays a vital role in our life. The statistical data shows that there are more than four thousand starch applications today.
The natural starches that are widely used and provide commercial values mainly consist of tapioca starch, potato starch, corn starch and wheat starch. From the comparison of starches, we know that the composition and characteristics of tapioca starch are similar to potato starch and better than corn starch and wheat starch.
