English Name: Titanium Dioxide, Titanium white Molecular Formula: TiO2 Molecular Weight: *9.*8 Physicochemical Properties: White powder, and there are three crystal types including brookite, anatase, A type and rutile, R type; and the latter two are mainly for industrial use. As for rutile, R type, its relative density is 4.*6, melting point ********0; and for anatase, A type, relative density is 3.*4. It is stable in chemical properties and performance, insoluble in water, organic acid and weak inorganic acid, and soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid, alkali and hydrofluoric acid. It is with excellent pigment performance like strong reducing power and hiding power. Refractive index for rutile, R type is 2.*0, and 2.*5 for anatase, A type. It is nontoxic. Use: In coating industry used as white dyestuff and glaze for porcelain products; as coating and filler in paper industry to improve the printability and opacity of papers; used to produce sponage titanium, ferrotitanium alloy and hard alloy in metallurgy industry, as well as used to produce insulator, electric welding rod and enamel, etc. It also can be used in synthetic fiber, plastics, rubber, printing, dying and cosmetics industry as well as used as pharmaceutical fillers and food additive.
