Heated in the air, it will decompose and release the highly toxic phosgene and hydrogen chloride gases. Soluble in alcohol, ether and other organic solvents, insoluble in water. Boiling point(101.3kPa): 47.7ºC; Melting point: -49.4ºC; Relative density(20/4ºC): 1.2565g/mL; Refractive index(N20ºC): 1.4457; Flash point(opening): 6ºC.
