Semi coke is a solid fuel residue obtained by the low-temperature carbonization of solid fuels. The properties and composition of semicoke are determined by the type of fuel and the method of low-temperature carbonization used. Semicoke contains up to ***5 percent volatile matter, as well as undesirable impurities of ash and sulfur. It is an easily ignited, smokeless fuel with a high heat of combustion—not less than **9 megajoules/m3(7,**0 kilocalories/m3).
