Introduction
Chromium is an essential trace mineral that plays an important role
in assisting the immune defense system and in the control of the
bodies regulation of blood sugars. Chromium deficiency has been
linked to an increased risk of coronary vascular diseases such as
high blood pressure and stroke. The Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF)
is responsible for controlling the bodies' regulation of blood
sugars. Chromium is necessary for GTF to work, and assists with
insulin, causing it to work more efficiently. Chromium-enriched
yeast is a special yeast which can provide ample organic chromium.
By adding inorganic chromium into the fermenter, the yeast can
combine the chromium into the intracellular proteins or
polysaccharides during growth. The chromium-enriched yeast can
provide more safe and more effective chromium.
