Iwisa No 1 Super Maize Meal is coarse flour made from white maize. It has been a traditional staple for generations of South Africans and is similar to Italian Polenta or grits in America.
Iwisa No 1 Super Maize Meal is added to boiling water or boiling milk to make a very thick, creamy porridge. A firmer and much fluffier version can be eaten as a side dish with meat and a sauce or gravy. It is an excellent source of Iron, Niacin, Zinc, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B6, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin A, Selenium and Vitamin B*2.
