Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred
species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical
regions throughout the world, originating in Africa. People use
hibiscus for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, to increase the
production of breast milk, and many other conditions, but there is
no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses. We are
