The main producers of soya are the United States with *5% of world production, followed by Brazil with *7% and Argentina with *9%.
Soya grains undergo a transformation process called trituration resulting in a co-product called meal. This meal is highly concentrated in nutriments, in particular in protein. This characteristic makes this oily meal one of the principal protein ingredients in animal feed (pigs, poultry…) around the world.
Gnral Afitex mainly exports two high demand varieties, from Brazil to Western Africa: soybean meal with gross protein contents of *6% or *8%.
Soybean meal can be sold in the form of pellets or flour, depending on the manufacturing process of the trituration factory. The quality of the soybean meal is generally expressed in Profat corresponding to the gross protein level combined with the proportion of fat.
Soybean meal *6% is one ingredient in animal feed, rich in protein, thiamine, choline and niacin.
