A date is a stone fruit, meaning it has a single seed surrounded by an outer fleshy fruit (like peaches, mangoes, and olives). They're grown on date palm trees, so where you would usually invision coconuts, picture big bunches of hundreds of dates! Some describe the taste and texture of a date as a chewier, more caramelly raisin. Dates have a very high sugar content, and like bananas, their sweetness intensifies the riper they get. You can tell a date is fresh and ready to eat when it has a wrinkled exterior, looks nice and plump and has a slightly glossy sheen. Dates would be supplied per kg and packaged as requested or as required by logistics company.
