Starch It is a starch based
high quality natural polymer used for filtration control Rheology
stability in all types of water based drilling fluids. It is pre
gelatinized to improve its performance to the full extent. This
modified polysaccharide is non-ionic in nature and is effective in
all make up waters including high salinity and high hardness brines
such as NaCl, KCL, MGCI2, and complex brines.
Applications This carbohydrate is
designed to reduce fluid loss and increased viscosity in all water
based muds. It is especially applicable and economical in saturated
salt and brine systems where other products are not effective. It
encapsulates particles with a protective polymer coating to
function as a protective colloid. It is effective as a drilling
fluid stabilizer as well as fluid loss reducer. It contains a
preservative and does not normally require a biocide.
