Himalayan salt (commonly known as rock salt) is a marketing term for Halite. It is mined in the Khewra salt mines, the second largest salt mines in the world, located in Khewra, district Jehlum, Punjab, Pakistan.The salt comes out in reddish, orange to pink and smoke gray color with some crystals having an off white to transparent color. It is mostly used in cooking, brine and for bath / spa products.

Himalayan rock salt is the cleanest salt available on earth and contains all the elements that are found in the human body.
