needle crystal or crystalline powder, bitter

Slightly soluble in water (0.*4%, *5C).Not soluble
in ethanol, ether, and acetone. Soluble
in alkaline solution. Pure L-tyrosine is stable, but it
is easy to be decomposed under hydrocarbon coexistence.
