The description of flow ball mill:

Overflow ball mill is composed of cylinder, end covers, main bearing, transmission gears and feeder. The cylinder of overflow mill is welded steel board with ****6mm. there are flange plates welded by cast steel on the both sides of cylinder, and end covers are connected with flange plates by bolts. Both of them must be processed carefully and matched up, because the hollow shafts bearing the quality of grinding ore machine are welded on the end covers. There are one or two manholes which are used to check and change liners. There are liners in the cylinder.

The operating principle of overflow ball mill:

The hollow shaft neck on the end covers bears the main bearing. The main bearing mainly adopts slid bearing, large diameter and short length. Bearing bush is casted by alloy, and the difference from others is that only low part has bearing bushes. The whole bearing is made from cast iron expect for bearing bushes which is casted by alloy. Because ball mill has a huge span and load, there will a degree of bend, and the error from production and fabrication is difficult to make correct concentricity. The main bearing is made from automatic Self aligning slid bearing. In order to avoid bearing bushes having a large transportation and sliding from bearing pedestal, there is a cylindrical pin in the centre of ball between bearing pedestal and bearing bush. The main bearing is an important part of overflow ball mill, so we should have enough attention to its lubrication, and thin oil concentration cycle is available. The oil flows towards pump and then presses into main bearing and rotary bearing through four roads, and then discharges oil drainage pipeline at the bottom of bearing and finally flows back to the oil box. As for the medium and small ball mill, the methods such as oilring automatic lubrication, oilring drop lubrication and solid lubricant are available. Some ore dressing plants adopt AFCO device to make the stability of lubrication.

The drive methods of overflow ball mill:

The drive methods of ball mill in China can be divided into the following aspects according to different specifications. (1) the transmission of synchronous motor. Large-scale ball mill adopts low speed synchronous motor to drive directly small gear, and then small gear drive big gear ring to make ball mill rotate. The advantages are high rotary rate, limited floor space, convenient maintain and improvement of power factor. However, the synchronous motor needs a high price and direct-currency resource. (2) the gear reducer drive of asynchronous motor. Large and indium ball mill adopt asynchronous drive, and gear reducer drives small gear and big gear ring to drive ball mill. The advantage is cheap price, but a large set reducers are needed. (3) triangle bolt drive of synchronous motor. Small ball mill adopts to take advantage of triangle bolt to drive small gear and big gear ring to drive ball mill. Its disadvantages are low rotary rate, large floor space and complex maintain.
