Cyanocobalamin is a dark-red, crystalline powder or dark-red crystals.
Odorless and tasteless.
Sparingly soluble in water and in alcohol, practically insoluble in acetone. The anhydrous substance is very hygroscopic.

Stability and storage
Cyanocobalamin is fairly stable if stored in air-tight light-resistant containers. The product may be stored for *6 months from the date of manufacture in the unopened original container and at controlled room temperature.
It has little change on the conditions of light and high temperature, but the impurities increase under alkaline, acid and oxidation conditions. The anhydrous substance is very hygroscopic, so the loss on drying will increase after opening the containers without suitable protected measures. But that doesn't affect the biological activity.
