Annatto is a natural dye extracted from the seeds of the tree whose scientific name is Bixa Orellana, is native to tropical America. Achiote is best known for being the source of natural pigment known as Annat, which is a d elos colorant used in the world.The most Achiote is used for the manufacture of cosmetics, decoration of garments, medicinal uses and preparation of condiments or coloring food use.

Bixin is extracted from annatto is also used in the cosmetics industry for the manufacture of creams, lipsticks, sunscreens and insect repellent.
