Rhizomes, leaves, inflorescences of Echinacea purpurea contain
polysaccharides and essential oil. The plant contains micro (zinc,
cobalt, selenium, manganese) and macronutrients (calcium,
potassium). Resins, betaine, organic and phenol carboxylic acids
were found in the roots.
The pharmaceutical industry uses Echinacea purpurea in the
production of drugs to enhance immunity and antiseptics. This plant
is very popular in folk medicine.
