SIT has developed a range of services to help you ascertain and protect the value of used vehicles when they are returned at the end of their lease periods and before entering the used car market.
If a vehicle is returned with
damage beyond that which can reasonably be expected (excessive
wear and tear), the resale value will be affected detrimentally.
Our used vehicle inspections give you an independent and
undisputable calculation of each returned vehicles value, so you
can claim the cost of repairs or the difference in market value
from the lessee.
From registering damage to the car, to missing documents or
spare keys, we follow the procedures and business rules that
have been agreed with you beforehand.
Our clients include major automotive manufacturers, their
affiliated financial services firms, fleet management
companies, car rental companies, and major vehicle auction
sites.
When you engage with SIT to carry out your used vehicle inspections you will instantly benefit from:
Third-party independent inspection
performed by trained professionals
Standardized inspection criteria and procedures across all
countries
Standardized electronic reporting in both local language and the common language of your choice
A tailor-made and flexible report to serve collection of claims and prompt remarketing
Standardized and undisputable cost calculation and determination of excess wear and tear across geographies
Reduced non-core and administrative expenses with better recovery
An open, transparent platform providing management online statistics, accessible by you and your customers
Electronic data exchange and optimal integration into your workflow and processes
Although our Used Vehicle Inspections can be tailored completely to your requirements, they typically involve three main stages.
Stage 1: the Inspection
Specially trained SIT inspectors register all technical
information about the car including the make, model, series,
fuel type, trim and accessories. They ascertain the presence of
keys and documentation, the condition of the tires, etc. They
then note and photograph any damage.
Stage 2: the Calculation
The data collected during the inspection is sent electronically
to an SIT-proprietary application called VIMS (Vehicle
Inspection Management System). Taking into consideration all
the results of the inspection, VIMS provides a detailed cost
analysis of every fault on the car.
Stage 3: the Reports
Two reports are typically issued:
The Condition report which is an independent report containing the entire cars data as collected and registered during the inspection. Complete with the cost calculation of the damages.
The Appraisal report is a derivative of the Condition Report. All damages required to be listed by the client are displayed. This report is usually supplied to the car dealers and does not contain individual cost calculations only the overall cost is displayed (if required).
There are many ways to view completed reports;
• URL to be sent by e-mail
• Online access on SGS server
• Electronic transfer to an Application Using XML
or other data transfer methods as required.
